Vanvaas is the most heart-touching movie of late 2024. Nana Patekar, such a talented actor, proves once again that he is a master of his craft. In this film, Nana Patekar tries to portray the harsh reality that old people are often abandoned by their loved ones and struggle to fend for themselves. This movie reflects Indian culture, showing the challenges faced by elderly people when their young children and their families prioritize their own lives. After watching this movie, I realized how important family is for every person. In old age, everyone needs the support of their family members. Unfortunately, in many cases, the elderly are not supported, leaving them feeling helpless. This movie emphasizes the need for supportive families.
Movie Plot:
The movie Vanvaas begins in Shimla, at “Vimla House,” with Nana Patekar playing Deepak Tyagi and his three sons. Deepak Tyagi deeply cherishes his late wife and their memories in this house. He suffers from dementia, but his sons wish to sell the house, while Deepak wants to turn it into a trust. In this conflict, his three sons and daughters-in-law abandon him in Kashi, leaving him in a vulnerable state. Deepak Tyagi loses his memory and identity due to his dementia, setting the stage for the story.
At this point, Veeru (played by Utkarsh Sharma) enters the story. He is a petty conman who scams people under the guise of helping them. Veeru sees Deepak as his next target. Alongside Veeru are his girlfriend Sapna (Simrat Kaur), her aunt (Ashwini Kalsekar), and his best friend (Rajpal Yadav). Despite its 2-hour-40-minute runtime, the movie feels engaging and mind-blowing due to its well-executed sequences. There are many exciting subplots that keep the audience hooked.
In the end, Deepak Tyagi and Veeru team up and return to Vimla House. Deepak slaps his son and leaves with Veeru, bringing the story to an emotional conclusion.
Conclusion:
Vanvaas is a completely compelling showcase of Nana Patekar’s talent. I loved this movie and felt every moment of it deeply in my heart.
